Sick Tree Treatment

The sick tree treatment is an effective way to treat a tree that has become ill or is in danger of becoming ill and is having trouble growing back healthy branches. The application of a systemic fungicide is often combined with other types of tree treatments in an effort to achieve better tree health. A systemic treatment should be applied at least annually during warm, dry periods in order to achieve the best results. When this happens, the tree will start to recover from the infection at its root level, and the infected leaves and branches will fall off.

Sick tree treatment involves two steps. The first step involves removing the diseased or sick tree completely from the area where it is located and then the arborist will apply an Insect Repellent directly to the roots. The second step involves injecting a chemical that sooths the roots, which encourages new growth and makes the tree healthier again. This insecticide must be applied in small amounts because it can burn the surrounding trees or harm people who are nearby. Some of these insecticides are labeled for residential use and require a license, while others are more suited for use on commercial trees. When using an insecticide on a sick tree, the arborist should wear protective gear including gloves, eye protection, and a mask to avoid the insecticide from being absorbed into the skin of those around him.

Some systemic diseases can also spread to other areas of the country or even to other states. To prevent spreading of some disease by using an insecticide as part of a sick tree treatment, it is important to isolate infected individuals and take precautions to avoid contact with anyone else who may have come into contact with the insecticide. An arborist can also use a topical treatment for insect pests when he or she notices an outbreak of an insect problem. This should be done right away to slow down the spread of the disease.
